The Havens Of Shame

She looks around as the sun burns
Her eyes are desolated
The fields have been sowed with dead seeds
A hopeless land is shedding tears

Looted homes and dejected folk
Is all she sees in agony
Hatred falls anew from the skies
There is no place here for the innocent

What can I do?
Where can I go?
I’m so afraid
Will I ever come back?

I’ll leave behind
All that I know
Yet now I’m sure
That I’ll always trudge forth

So many exiles like her (exiles like her)
Flee from war, famine and fear (war, famine and fear)
They venture far from their land (far from their land)
To be reborn somewhere else (reborn somewhere else)

Days are growing longer now
She is weary and walks in dismay
Many roads and many slopes
Have brought her to where rivers die

The fire of her land is nothing against
The coldness of the fearsome sea
Water strikes and becomes bone
Her day of doom shall come ere long

A dwindling light
Is upon me
I’m falling down
I’m a soul in distress

I have survived
So many things
I have the strength
To refuse to die now!

Lost souls bereft of their home (bereft of their home)
Seek for a horizon to reach (a horizon to reach)
Hell is a salty and wet place (a salty and wet place)
Reigning the borders of death (the borders of death)

Cavitation in body and mind
A shaky heart pushed to the limit
Blurring waters inside the lungs
The certainty that the end has come

The faith and blaze of many people die
Inside the mirror of the moon
Evil tidings have crossed the sea
To bring sorrow to her dear ones

A known calamity comes in waves
Crashing on the western shores
At last, she arrives at a brave new world
Just to lie dead on the sand

I may have failed
This forced quest
At least I know
That I’ve done all I could

I can forebode
Oblivion
I wish I could
See the barrens in bloom

Victims of this sundered world (this sundered world)
Challenge the seas of despair (the seas of despair)
They strive to escape from a fate (to escape from a fate)
Doomed by the havens of shame (the havens of shame)

Shame
Shame
Shame
